Males

Fixing your Chihuahua is a good idea for preventative health. For example, some male testicles do not fully drop. If they are not neutered then this is a problem. However, it is no big deal if they are fixed. Neutering your male chi will also prevent testicle and prostate cancer.

Neutering your chi will also decrease the chance of roaming. When males roam they often travel a few miles. This could result in becoming lost or getting hit by a car. If your chi is neutered he will not roam or spray (which can be quite stinky!).

Neutering often results in a more calm temperament. Your chi will be more affectionate and less likely to get in fights!

Females

As with males, spaying your Chihuahua bitch is a good idea for preventative health. This can prevent breast and uterus cancer.
